This photograph of Black Castle in Wicklow Town was taken the day after Storm Brian made landfall here in Ireland. The weather was quite calm considering the weather the rest of the country had seen with Storm Ophelia days before.

The sea was a little choppy but nothing unusually different than normal. I took the opportunity to photograph the Castle when there was nobody around to walk into my shots.

The Castle was completely destroyed in 1301 by the O’Byrne and O’Toole clans.
