Last year I decided to by myself a few books relating to the Irish Outdoors and this one “A Guide To Ireland’s Mountain Summits” by Mountain Views was first on the list. I think I purchased it for about €14 and it comes with me everywhere as it is a small enough book.
It lists the Vandeleur-Lynams (600m high with a prominence of 15 metres or more) and the The Arderins (with an elevation of atleast 500m with a prominence of 30 metres or more).
The book also contains Ireland’s top 100 Highest Mountains and where they are located along with some beautiful photographs of these locations. It was a great buy and I highly recommend purchasing it if you are a looking to get a start in Mountain Hiking/Climbing.
This photograph was taken as I was chilling out inside the Mullacor Hut in Co Wicklow shortly after having some lunch. There is nothing more satisfying than being outdoors and out of the elements with a good book and fire by your side.
